Bivocational Minister
This is a
Part-Time position with
Bengal Christian Church in Franklin,
Indiana.
Job Requirements:The preferred candidate would possess the gifts and skills of teaching, evangelism, and discipling. A degree in pastoral studies, missions, theology, or similar field of study is preferred. It is expected that the pastor be available at least two to three days per week plus Sundays for ministerial duties. The church provides a three bedroom, two bath parsonage with a two car detached garage and electrical, heating, phone, and internet services on adjoining property. The pastor is also provided three paid weeks of vacation as part of the benefits offered. Conditions of Employment: 1. Models the Biblical standard of personal conduct and lifestyle. 2. Supports and adheres to the mission, vision, and values of BCC. 3. Supports and adheres to the BCC policies and by-laws. 4. Pastoral staff must be active, participating members of Bengal Christian Church or be willing to become a member at the beginning of employment. General responsibilities: 1. Engage in pastoral responsibilities, as assigned, to include teaching, preaching, performing weddings and funerals, pastoral counseling, assisting in worship services, communion, baptisms, child dedications and hospital visits. 2. Assist in establishing ministry goals and objectives that support the mission and vision of the Church. 3. Recruit, lead, and shepherd the elders and leaders within the ministry areas. 4. Church / Organization Description:Bengal Christian Church (BCC) is seeking a bi-vocational pastor for a small Independent Christian Church in rural Bengal, Indiana. We have one Sunday worship service with an average of 25-30 in attendance and Sunday School with about 15 in attendance. We serve in a farming community, but attendees come from the nearby cities of Franklin and Shelbyville as well.
