A study of the characteristics of Hebrew poetry will be followed by an examination of the book of Psalms. Included will be a general introduction to the book of Psalms and a study of individual psalms that stresses the major themes of the book. Students will learn the themes of the text through lecture, discussions, and assigned reading and projects. A devotional diary will also be kept.
