A seminary professor once advised, "Get all the learning you can keep sanctified."
This expresses our conviction about the academic life at OCC.
We are interested not only in information but also in spiritual formation.
Not all knowledge is created equal, and knowledge by itself can foster arrogance
(I Corinthians 8:1). However, we are grateful to offer a full spiritual curriculum
because, for the most part, "the more we know, the farther we can reach for
God."
Our six bachelor degrees help prepare students for vocational
Christian leadership. Our four advanced associate degrees,
eight associate degrees, two certificate programs
and TESOL certification help prepare students for volunteer Christian
leadership. Our curriculum is divided into three parts: biblical, practical
and general. These three parts help prepare students by coming to know the
mind of God, acquiring a set of skills for ministry and obtaining a Christian
worldview. Click here for
a more detailed description of our mission, objectives and doctrinal statement.
Our 71 full and part-time faculty are a gold mine. They
not only know their subjects and teach with passion, they also care deeply
about the students they teach. Every student at OCC
is assigned an academic advisor who assists the student with class selection
and gives guidance concerning Christian service and ministerial career. OCC
has demanding academic standards, but those standards are realized in an encouraging
environment.
